Castle Point Charters - Vancouver Island
Port Hardy Fishing Charter Guide

Jim Henschke started his fishing career at the early age of 12 on the Comox Bar, in Courtenay, working for Crown Zellerback. He fished with live needlefish that he racked on the bar.

While fishing on the Comox Bar, Jim tested a new fishing lure for a friend, the now famous and widely used "Buzz Bomb" - you might have heard of it - fishing has never been the same since Rex's invention.

Jim fished with Crown Zellerback for 4 summers, then got a call from a fishing lodge in Campbell River called the Painters Lodge in 1968. Three years later it was time to move on!

Fishing the Campbell River in the 60's was a dream come true, and an unbelievable number of fish of all sizes were caught.
